I am a teacher at Soji Zen Center in Drexel Hill, PA (just outside Philadelphia), I began my studies in 2011, first with Jules Shuzen Harris and, after his death, with John Ango Gruber. I developed rheumatoid arthritis in 2013, which led to a focus on inclusivity in Zen. I lead a disability affinity group for practitioners with disabilities that meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday.

I am the chair of English Creative Writing and Theater at Widener University, in Chester PA, where I teach courses on Shakespeare and other early modern writers, feminism, disability and LGBT+ literature
