Ryoshin leads the South Mountain Zen Circle, a Zen meditation group in Northern New Jersey, and is on the teaching staff at the Village Zendo in New York City. He has actively participated in the Buddhist program at Sing Sing Correctional Institution since 2010.

He began his Zen studies in 2001 with Roshi Enkyo O'Hara, abbot emeritus of the Village Zendo. In 2015, he began studying with Roshi Ryotan Eiger. He received dharma transmission from Ryotan in July 2026.

In addition to teaching, Ryoshin is an aspiring fiction writer. He lives in Millburn NJ with his wife Sarah and two very good dogs.
