Roshi Gerry Shishin Wick
Great Mountain Zen Center
Roshi Gerry Shishin Wick is a Dharma successor of Taizan Maezumi Roshi in the White Plum lineage and co-spiritual director of Great Mountain Zen Center. He received Inka empowerment as a Roshi from Roshi Bernie Glassman. He is a past president of the White Plum Asanga and a former board member of Zen Peacemakers International.
Shishin currently lives at Maitreya Abbey in Berthoud, Colorado, and is author of three Zen books: The Book of Equanimity: Illuminating Classic Zen Koans, The Great Heart Way: How to Heal Your Life and Find Self-fulfillment (written with Ilia Shinko Perez) and My American Zen Life. He has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and has worked as a physicist, oceanographer, science writer and computer scientist. He has four grown children and eight grandchildren.
