Paul Seiko Schubert has been a Zen Practitioner since the mid ‘80s and has been a Dharma Heir of Robert Kennedy, Roshi and member of the White Plum Asanga since 2007. He is currently the principal teacher at City Tiger Zendo @ Xavier and The Oratory in Brooklyn. Paul has been a visiting teacher for 10 years or longer at Inisfada on Long Island, White Plains, and Fordham Manhattan. In recent years, he has become a recognized Sumi artist with over 150 of his paintings displayed in 20 states and 8 countries. In the technical world, he holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and conducted and managed research in industry for 25 years. Paul has also taught at the university and early college level for 15 years. His two books (Sophia Omni Press) are Zen Entry Points (2020), which has been a staple for book clubs, particularly during the pandemic, and Sumi-e Speaks: Zen Stories, Verses, and Science (2023), a collection of original art informed by Zen teaching.
